Chatbox [Chatters please read]

Some people are experiencing lagging issues with the Forum. I have been told that the main reason is due to the Chatbox, at the bottom of each page. To make the forum easier to navigate for all systems and internet connections, we'd like to ask you a few questions. Please answer them below, and also vote on the poll above.

1. Should we remove the chatbox from every page on the forum and leave it on the index only?
   
2. Should we completely remove the chatbox and add a link to the Navigation Bar (above) to pop up as a new window? (This would also make the Friend Requests button to disappear)
   
3. Should we remove the sound and "New Message!" alerts?

All this would make the forum 40% - 50% faster to load. However, we'd lose some of our top notch chatbox features.

Please leave your thoughts!

Yes we should remove the sound cause that slows the chatbox down.

1)Should we remove the chatbox from every page on the forum and leave it on the index only? --i like it as it is, I find it convenient because I can view any page while watching the chat box during chat sessions.

2)Should we completely remove the chatbox and add a link to the Navigation Bar (above) to pop up as a new window? (This would also make the Friend Requests button to disappear) --I don't want the "Friend Requests" button to be removed so can you just make something like in facebook that notifies us about a FR? But I think another open window is kind of irritating to me >.< for chatbox

3)Should we remove the sound and "New Message!" alerts?
--The "New message" alert is good, but it keeps on blinking/ showing up even if there's no new message. Maybe you could just remove the "New Message" alert and stick to the sound. that's better. IMOO.

I think its perfect the way it is. The only thing I dislike is how it flashes when you get a new message.

I agree with airam's suggestions. Removing the sound would make the chatbox and the forum 20-30% faster and people don't like it when the page title keeps changing even though there isn't a new message.

Who would like me to remove it? Please leave your opinion.

Personally I think that you should remove the sounds and only have it on the index.

In my own opinion, I disagree with those who want to have it on the index only. The good thing about the chatbox is that you can access anywhere on the site, even though you're doing something else.

I also disagree with removing both "New Message!" and sound alerts... then the last chatbox update would have been useless. We still need a notification, and since the "New Message!" is kinda buggy and people dislike it, I'll remove it but still stay with the sound.

I agree with The Listener, having the chatbox where it is, is the only form of chat that is remotely realistic to Facebook. I say keep it as it is, although I never really had the new message! notification as a problem.

I say everything is fine but the "New Message" alerts. those don't shut off, and get rather annoying. Other than that it's perfect.
