FBF Motto and Mascot

Idea #1:

Each member can come up with an idea with a motto that we could put in the forum description, the banner, or on our FBF userbars. Here are some examples I came up with.

"Facebook Focused. Member Driven."
"Bringing 500 Milllion Facebookers to 1 Online Community"
"As diverse as Facebook itself."

This isn't really necessary, but I think it would be cool.

Idea #2:
This isn't necessary either, but I think it would be cool if we had a Facebook Forum Mascot. It could be a little face with the words FBF on it, it could be a blue monster, or a person, etc. We could have a contest to see who makes the best one.

I don't like the mascot idea seeing as a discussion forum doesn't necessarily need a mascot. However the motto is an excellent idea. I have a few of my own.

I like the first idea, since "A discussion place for Facebook users" can be a little unoriginal. I personally loved "Bringing 500 Milllion Facebookers to 1 Online Community"

However, I dislike the second idea. A mascot would be useless.

Let me reword what I said: I wonder if I (we) could derive something from my review, especially from my acrostic poem for the motto.

[*]F- irst place to go when I open my laptop in the morning. Yawn. Wake up. Go.
[*]A- lways my hang out place. Chat. Gossip. Stalk.
[*]C- ause of my procrastination every day. Slack. Slack.Slack.
[*]E- vent organizer. Party.Plan.Party.
[*]B- rings people together. Unity.Reunion.Mingle.
[*]O- nly possible place to talk to walls. Hi.Hello.Hey.
[*]O- verpopulated! Create.Search.Add
[*]K- eeps me in touch with my friends. Update.News.Communicate.

"...with the Zeal of drawing people closer together" --just a phrase I came up with, I want the "zeal" word.

I think those are all too general...they could be about anything. They don't even mention Facebook or a forum.

I agree with the current motto...it's so boring. And thanks for the 2nd part. I'll try to think of more.

Also, most companies have some kind of slogan/motto...I think our current one is pretty boring.

maybe but this is a Facebook fans support forum and not a Company ....

Yes but the whole purpose of having a slogan is to attract users, and show them the purpose of the forums. As you say, we have several different categories that don't fall under just discussion. We have to have a slogan that shows people we have so much more than discussion to offer. Don't get me wrong, users love to discuss, but having he variety makes a forum so much more active.
