Wall appears in profile menu, but is empty

I would like to know, which setting is responsible for that. I've seen this several times (at friends and unfriends): You can access the wall, but you see very little to nothing: You can see 'X has changed his profile image' or maybe one message, but only for several days, then it disappears. There is also a button 'older messages', which shows nothing.

I know the setting of hiding the wall even to friends, but in this case, the menu point 'wall' isn't visible any longer for them. So does anybody know, how the above described works?

It's all in the account settings. You can hide anything in your profile from anyone you want by clicking Account --> Privacy Settings --> Change your settings
