Looking for a long lost friend

I am looking for a long lost friend from the 70's. I looked up her name but did not find her but she had a son and I looked that name up and there are around 500 people with that name. Can I send one message out to all of those people with that name to see if they are the son of my long lost friend. If so, how do I go about doing that?
