How to Make Your Facebook Public

I am overwhelmed by the vast information here and so I wonder if something can help me with getting my facebook account set to where anyone and everyone can view it without requiring someone to be added to a friends list? Do people still need to be registered facebook users in order to view a public page?

Account -> Privacy Settings -> Everyone -> Set these settings.

Also,

Account -> Privacy Settings -> Customize Settings -> Set all to "Everyone"

Then everyone on the internet would be able to see all your information, walls, applications, etc.

I guess I am missing something. It was set to Everyone but when non-facebook users go to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] it doesn't allow them to view the page without having to register for a facebook account.

I want it to behave like this one here:

The first one is a FB Profile, whereas the second one is a Facebook "Like"/Fan Page. You can learn how to create a page [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] (Click on "Create page" and build a Community one).
