Delete redundancy?

FB now shows a menu with just 1 option, delete post, when you click the x next to a post. Why the redundancy? If you click x is cuz you want to delete the post and it already asks for confirmation so this new feature doesnt serve any purpose.

Indeed it's uneeded! I think it could be one of yesterday's outage aftermath... they performed some kind of backup to the site that made it go a little funny. I guess? If it's an update, then it sucks.. long life Remove button!
