Cannot add username to fan page

Hello.

We tried to add a username to our page.

It says that it is available but when we press confirm it freezes on loading.

I attached a print screen.

Hello. This is a bussiness page and it doesn't have a user attached to it because of Facebook policy.

"Facebook profiles are meant to represent a single individual. Organizations of any type are not permitted to maintain an account under the name of their organization. "

Is there a special reason why you don't want to create a profile to administrate it?

Have you tried clearing your cookies and cache/different browser?

I tried clearing cookies and cache and with other browser IE, Mozilla, Chrome ....

I answered above why I don't want to create a profile : "Organizations of any type are not permitted to maintain an account under the name of their organization."

This is a business fan page. I don't want the account to be canceled by facebook according their policy.

After almost two weeks from posting, is this problem still occuring?

yes still the same problem and now facebook let fan page without an profile account change username by accessing [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ... the problem still persist

Ps: I find out a bug on username pages something using Firebug to delete a parameter but no help for me. You have to delete DOMControl_placeholder

I seem to be having the same problem. Tried different browsers. Did a CCleaner. Logged directly into facebook.com/username Nothing.

Okay, I finally figured it out!!

You have to make your personal profile an admin to the fan page.

Once you do that scroll down the left side of your personal page and you'll see "Ads and Pages" click on that.

Again on the left hand side of the page scroll down a bit and you'll see the orange flag that says "Marketing" click on that.

Down the middle of that page you'll see another orange flag "Create and Alias" click on that.

Then it leads you basically to the page where you've been before where you create a username. Only this time the page doesn't freeze!

Thanks for the heads up and the tip! I'm glad you found a workaround, and I'm a little surpizes Facebook hasn't fixed it yet

I believe your problem can be called solved now?
