Facebook + hotmail account hacked
First of all Hi everyone.
Yesterday I was online from 10 am till noon. then I went to the beach and i got back around 8pm. I checked my fb and it told me that my password had been changed, around 9am with a computer of this network (we only have 2 pc's in the house and I use them both.).
I thought wtf is this, next thing I do is checking my hotmail (which is linked to my facebook account) and the msn account was also telling me the password was incorrect.
I went to fb and changed my pasword and linked it to my second emailadres (thanks to that secret question). It told me to wait 24 hours to re-acces it .
Well I did, and I went back on fb to check 22,5 hours later. fb said I had to wait another 1,5 hours, so I did. I checked it again after an hour, so when i still had half an hour before reactivation, and It gave me the same message it gave me yesterday. 'your password has been changed around 9am on this network'.
With my second msn also.
So EXACTLY the same thing happened like yesterday. I tried the same thing again with a third emailadres. Now I have to wait ANOTHER 24 hours.
But I feel the samething will happen over and over again.
Anyone ever had this? Can I do something about it? Is there a dude causing this or is it a virus or something? I couldn't think of anybody who would do this.. I'm getting really frustrated. Nothing on my account has changed tough.
any help? thanks

You of course logged out of Facebook and turned the computer off completely ?

And the email from Facebook that tells you about this is ...where?

Can you still log in to this ?
and the msn account was also telling me the password was incorrect.
Is it now correct?

You unfortunately do not tell us how these computer are protected and what scans you have run to check for infections?
Do you I hope turn off both computers when not in use and of course log out of anything you are logged into ?

Re: Facebook + hotmail account hacked
well I always keep my notebook on at day, also during that day i went to the beach...
that facebook message was not an email, it came in a red box above the log in dialogue.
I scanned my notebook with Antivir, but it didn't find anything. my desktop can't have caused anything because I only use him occasionally with an internet connection, and I didn't use it for fb in a while.
& I can't login in hotmail.
thank you for your reply.

May one ask why you have adopted what is really unsafe practice?
Leaving it on means anyone can play with it if they find it...is that what you want?

MBAM may "make changes to your registry" as part of its disinfection routine. If using other security programs that detect registry changes , they may interfere or alert you.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
- Make sure you are connected to the Internet to be able to install and update the program
(NB once the program has updated please disconnect from the Internet and run the scan while off- line )- Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
- When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
- When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:
- Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
- Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Then click Finish. MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.On the Scanner tab:
- If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue.
Back at the main Scanner screen:
- Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
- Then click on the Scan button.
- If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
- The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
- When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
- Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be asked to reboot your computer so MBAM can proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.
- Click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
- Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
- When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad.
- The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
- Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system.
- Exit MBAM when done.

Re: Facebook + hotmail account hacked
The results of the scan gave 1 infection: mailpv.exe (PUP.mailpassview) I removed it, in 5 hours I will see if I can acces my fb again.
Edit: I just remember, mailpv was a little program I downloaded yesterday to find my old password So the scans actually found nothing
