Sharing a friend's past status update with a third party

I want to encourage someone to become friends with some friends of mine whose status updates are really extraordinary. I would therefore like to share a few of their recent status updates with this person. How do I do that? If I can't do that, can I send a message to this person containing a link to these friends' Facebook pages? How do I do that?

I'm new to Facebook and have the "recommended" settings. Thanks

Unfortunately I don't believe Facebook has the aforementioned functionality. The best way you could do that is to probably copy & paste the statuses you would like to share with your friend (the one you're trying to encourage to be friends with), and send it to them in a new message.
