The edit button previously mentioned is located at the top of every one of your posts. It allows you to change / add things to your post, thus allowing you to not have to double/triple post to add information, etc.

Currently, I don't believe there is any way to restore the old facebook look back.

The yahoo answers link won't work, because facebook has already fully migrated to the new facebook.

I think the best bet would be the sizzledcore link. The 'add developer application' or the firefox add-on solution may work, although I have not personally tried it.
