Profile Only Visible to Those I Contact?

I want to set my profile so it is only visible to those who I contact. The privacy settings seem to be limited to either Everyone, or Friends of Friends.

Is there no way to be invisible except to those I choose?

It is possible. Go to Settings --> Privacy Settings --> Search --> Facebook Search Results --> Only Friends.

But then isn't it necessary for each of us to first agree to be friends?

I would like my profile to be visible only to those I have contacted, not necessarily those who've gone through the formal process of 'friending'.

When I contact someone, I want them to be able to see my profile. And -only- those who I contact should be able to see it.

Your limited profile will be available to those who you contact for a specificed amount of time, with the settings
