If by 'ban' you mean 'block' one of your Friends from your chat, it is possible. Read [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

Your chat history can be retreived when you check your chat window once again. Let's suppose yesterday I talked to Jessica, and today she's online and I click her name on my chat list, I'll be able to see our yesterday conversation. But apart from that, I think none of the Chat History Retreiving apps work anymore, since the last update Happy
