Cannot request friend and they cannot request me as friend Empty Cannot request friend and they cannot request me as friend

I got a message from someone that they want to "friend" me, but they could find no request button on my page. I then tried to request him with the same problem. Both of us have https and "friends only" security. I have received requests as recently as one month ago, but now it does not seem possible. Is FB adding the friend request button to an "insecure" list? We have both tried many ways without success. Is there a way around this without losing our security level? Thanks.

Do you still require help with this as there have been no replies or contributions on this thread for several days ?

I am still interested in this topic, but I had been unable to use the web due to a severe slowdown. I am now back up and running. Jan
