Merging fan pages

Hi,
I just wanted to ask if its possible to merge my pages to one page.
I created 3 pages for my works pubs and now we want to merge them to just one page.
If this isn't possible what would be the next best alternative?
Would I need to just inform all our members we are deleting the page and give them a link to the new one?

I seem to get this message when I tried to merge some pages.

Your request could not be completed for the following reasons:

The page that you wish to merge with the pages below must be an authentic page.

what I did was put the fan pages urls in the bottom box and the page I want them all to merge with in the top box.
