CAN'T SEE FRIENDS STATUS UPDATES

This has happened today: On the left hand side of my home page where it says Friends, if I click on that I only get the option of "Recently Updated". Why? What is going on? Yesterday I had the option of "Status Updates" as well. Where has it gone? Can I change it back?
