stop news feed telling me who my friends are friends with

I keep getting news feeds telling me that soandso and 50 other people are now friends with soandso.

Any way to block this?

If i click the X.. it allows me to block all posts from this user, or this post...Does not give the option to block all posts of this type

Unfortunatley not. Facebook does not allow us to remove these types of posts.

Like JamesDr21 said, there's no way to remove them all, but there's a way to make less of those stories to be shown. And that depends on how many friends you have on Facebook.

Go to your Homepage, scroll down until you see an "Edit Options" link, click on it, and select "All of your friends and pages" for "Show posts from". That would generate more stories on your homepage, and since the friends one aren't actually important, you should get less of those and more wall posts.
