Mobile Verification Help?

I have been trying to add my mobile number to my account for a very very very long time now & i keep coming up with this message?

The phone number you're trying to verify was recently used to verify a different account. Please try a different number.

i did use it for my old profile but that profile was permanently deleted a couple of months ago Sad

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

Can your friends still view your old account or has it been removed all together?

Did you use the same email or a different one to make your account?

Can you try creating a third account with the same email that you used to create the first account. If you get an error saying that the email is already in use then I'm afraid that the same applies your phone number and there will be no way linking your phone number to your current account.

i have my number posted in my mobile numbers still & i got an email saying my account has been created but it is asking for a mobile number to verify the account?

ok the old facebook is there but asking for a number to verify it so i cant actually get into it!

Even though it appear your first account has been deleted/removed, your e-mail and phone number are still linked to that account so it seems you won't be able to link your phone number to your current account.

but I note

When you deactivate your account, your profile (timeline) and all information associated with it disappears from the Facebook service immediately. People on Facebook will not be able to search for you or view any of your information.

If you’d like to come back to Facebook anytime after you’ve deactivated your account, you can reactivate your account by logging in with your email and password. Your profile (timeline) will be restored in its entirety (friends, photos, interests, etc.). Remember that you will need to have access to the login email address for your account in order to reactivate it.

I think you may need to do this

all of which I take as a work around to try to get you back into the 'deactivated account so you can then maybe delete the now not -wanted mobile phone form it if that is what you seek to do ?
