How to post a person's profile link AND profile picture thumbnail on your wall

for some reason, when I try to post a friend's profile link to my wall, it won't include the thumbnail of their profile picture. I've seen it done many times...Is there a trick to this? Please help!

1) Why are you making a link to your friends profile your status?
2) Try clearing your cookies and cache.
